Fireside Chat 5.26.21
Hi thanks for joining us for this week’s Fireside Chat: Where the light of Christ gives us HOPE for tomorrow!
Hey, it is great to back from vacation! Wow, this weekend is Memorial Day! The first weekend of the summer. When we can wear white and the beginning of summer vacation. Many of you will have all kinds of plans like cookouts, swimming, watching or attending the Indy 500, and many outdoor activities.
As we celebrate the lives of those who have served and paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. We need to also stop and remember the ultimate memorial of the Lord’s Supper as we remember the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. We invite you to worship with and bring a friend. As we look at our fifth core value: Sacrificial Generosity.
Paul writes, “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” 2 Corinthians 9: 11
The leadership has decided that for the summer, we will only have one fireside chat a month. It will be the first Wednesday of every month. We wish you and your family a happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend. As you celebrate, remember the best is yet to come!!

Let’s Laugh:
My wife asked me to take her to one of those restaurants where they make the food right in front of you. So, I took her to Subway and that’s how the fight started.
Because of COVID-19, for the first time since 1945 the national Spelling Bee is cancil… cancul… cansel… It’s been called off.
Two businessmen walk into a diner in the countryside. They have decided to stop there for lunch, so without ordering anything they sit down, take out sandwiches from their bags and begin to eat them.
The waiter sees this and says to them, "You can't eat your own sandwiches in here!"
So the businessmen look at each other, shrug, and swap sandwiches.
First rule of cleaning while listening to music: The toilet brush is never a microphone...NEVER!
Let’s Ponder:
"Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of a readiness to die." G.K. Chesterton
Let’s Pray:
Let us turn to You, Lord, in our grief and in our remembrance of the fallen. Guide us toward a harmonious existence as we honor those who were willing to give up their lives that we may gather here today freely. On this Memorial Day, we pray for peace and for those who gave all.
