Survive Flagrant Fouls
Feb 22, 2026 • Paul Gearhardt
This sermon, part of the series “The Dream Team,” focuses on how husbands and wives survive “flagrant fouls” in marriage. Using the metaphor of basketball fouls, it explains that conflict in marriage is inevitable, but combat is not. Differences between spouses—personality, habits, communication styles, intimacy, finances, and in-law dynamics—can create tension. Drawing from Ephesians 4, the message offers four biblical keys to handling conflict in marriage and all relationships: Be Honest, Deal with Anger, Show Sensitivity, and Offer Forgiveness. The sermon emphasizes that strong marriages require divine help, intentional communication, generosity, grace, and Christlike forgiveness.
