Accepting Each Other

Aug 23, 2026    Paul Gearhardt

Romans 14:1-12 teaches that Christians can hold different opinions and preferences without letting those differences divide the church. Paul encourages believers to accept one another, especially in matters where Scripture does not clearly command or forbid something.

The sermon emphasizes that our methods and preferences may differ, but our mission is the same: to know Jesus and make Jesus known. We should not label, judge, or try to control other believers because God accepts them, Christ is their judge, and each person is ultimately accountable to God.

The main takeaway is: Don’t let differences over non-essential issues destroy unity. Drop the labels, quit judging, release control, and show others the same grace Christ has shown us. We are better together because we share one faith, one Lord, one baptism, and one body.
