Fireside Chat

Dear NTCC Family,

Let’s Laugh:

•Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
•I’m not sure anyone is truly aware of how little self-control they possess until the chips and salsa are set down at a Mexican restaurant.
•I sympathize with batteries. I’m never included in anything either.
•Singing in the shower is all fun and games until you get shampoo in your mouth, then it just becomes a soap opera.

Let’s Ponder:

May God bless you with discomfort
At easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships
So that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger
At injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people,
So that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.

May God bless you with tears
To shed for those who suffer pain, rejection, hunger and war,
So that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and
To turn their pain into joy.

And may God bless you with enough foolishness
To believe that you can make a difference in the world,
So that you can do what others claim cannot be done,
To bring justice and kindness to all our children and the poor.
A Franciscan Benediction

Let’s Pray:

Lord, so often we want life to be perfect and without any struggle. But Lord, we ask that You bless us this week when we feel discomfort, anger and sadness. Help us to have the audacity to really believe that we can do something incredible for You this week! In Jesus’s Name, Amen!
