How to Grow a Loving Church

In Romans 12:9–21, Paul shows us that Christian love must be more than an idea—it must become concrete in the way we treat one another. A loving church is built when believers practice sincere love, remain devoted to one another, live with hope, show hospitality, emotionally support others, walk in humility, and respond to hurt with kindness rather than revenge.

Paul's message is especially important for a divided church because unity requires us to put others before ourselves and treat one another as family. We are called to reject sin without rejecting people, celebrate with those who celebrate, mourn with those who mourn, tear down social barriers, and pursue peace whenever possible.

Ultimately, we love this way because Christ has first loved us. A healthy, unified church is one where God's people move beyond loving in the abstract and put their love "in the concrete."
