A Forgiving Heart
This sermon centers on the truth that God’s heart is deeply forgiving, as revealed in Exodus 34:7 and fully demonstrated through Jesus.
Many people misunderstand who God is—some see Him as distant, harsh, or focused on our failures. But when Moses asked God to reveal His glory, God showed His character: compassionate, gracious, patient, loving—and forgiving. His forgiveness covers every kind of sin, whether it’s crooked behavior (wickedness), defiance (rebellion), or general failure (sin).
The sermon explains that forgiveness does not ignore sin. Instead, it reveals three key truths:
All people are sinners (Romans 3:23).
Sin has a cost that must be paid.
That payment was made through Jesus’ death on the cross.
Jesus is the clearest picture of God’s forgiving heart—He forgave all kinds of people, even those who crucified Him. On the cross, He took our sin and “carried it away,” offering complete forgiveness.
The message concludes by inviting us to accept God’s forgiveness, release our guilt, and extend that same forgiveness to others.
